Flush anger and frustration for your liver

Dear one,

Let's talk about the different emotions that are stored in our organs. To cultivate a holistic well-being in which the different bodies (physical, emotional and spiritual) as well as the three brains (mind, heart, chi), it's crucial we connect with them.

During my time in Thailand I dedicated a lot of attention to my liver. If in balance, the liver generates generosity and kindness. A stressed liver holds resentment, frustration and anger. I incorporated the 1-day liver cleanse in the middle of my 7-day juice fast. It’s been intense on so many levels.

The juices my Ayurvedic therapist made for me from all natural ingredients were extremely acidic. The first half of the day I was literally peeing from my ass which feels great on the one hand but towards the evening I wished I had the Weleda creme with me that I put my son on his bum when he was still in his nappy time. I spare you the details but as much as I smiled to my holy asshole—it kept burning like fire.

Clean, clean, clean

After drinking the last detox juice before going to bed, I meditated holding my liver on the right side of my body, connecting to all the emotions it had to process in the last years. I just let it be there. Without analysis of the mind. Just feeling what was and what is.

Between early in the morning around 5am until around 8am I started to flush out a good amount of small stones from the gall bladder that I caught with a little sieve from the toilet. Curious as a little child in its rectal phase I examined all that came out of my stool with a mix of a little disgust and a lot of fascination. It’s amazing what we have inside ourselves without knowing…

Clean body = emotional release

During my Qigong and my yoga practice in the morning, I had a beautiful emotional release. Warm tears washed out the remaining resentment, frustration and anger from the past. I traveled through the toxic relationship with the father of my son, the huge fear I felt in that time of losing my mind, the immense efforts of moving all by myself with a little 3-year old boy to Portugal, the financial instability, the exhausting sleepless nights, my dis-regulated nervous system…just to name a few.

For years, I’ve lived like a hermit on the farm in Portugal that I chose as new home. Being around people stressed my system. The fast spinning city had become absolutely unbearable. Big supermarkets were the worst. I somehow managed to care for my son in the most loving way I could and thanks to the generosity and the trust of my parents I was able to afford all the trainings and studies I have done on the side while trying to survive and not lose my mental sanity.

What I did instead

Nourishing myself at places that radiate peace and tranquility and that support holistic wellbeing. In Thailand, for example, I did my daily morning practice on a little wooden platform overlooking the rice fields and I watched the sun going down from the same place hugging the surroundings with warm violet light.

I am grateful to my liver for helping me process all the toxins and all the emotions connected to them. May my cleansed liver support me to bring generosity and kindness into my life and through that into the life of the ones around me.

Thank you for reading my MUSELETTERS, for sharing what inspires you with others and for helping to create a new culture of relating. We can only do it together.

Want to care for your liver?

If you feel that you also want cleans your liver, it’s a good idea to do at least a 7-day juice fast, or even a longer Ayuvedic detox. If you’re new to detoxing, make sure you consult with a specialist to support you. So, while you're deep in a 7-day juice fast this is how you get ready for a liver cleanse day. This one's gonna be intense—but transformational. Let’s go:

Morning Ritual (Empty Stomach):

  • Warm water with lemon and a tablespoon of ghee or olive oil (optional but powerful for stimulating bile).

  • First juice of the day: acidic blend (grapefruit, lemon, turmeric, ginger).

Mid-Morning:

  • Stay on acidic, liver-friendly juices (lemon, lime, grapefruit), or switch it up with beet-carrot blends.

  • Expect things to move—quickly. Bathroom trips will become your new reality. Stay hydrated with herbal teas (dandelion, fennel, or ginger).

Midday:

  • Emotions or fatigue might kick in. That's your liver doing some deep cleaning.

  • Juice, rest, hydrate, repeat. Keep it light—no intense activity today.

Afternoon/Evening:

  • Keep the juices coming. Focus on citrus or green-based blends.

  • If you're feeling sensitive "down there," now's a good time to grab that soothing balm. Seriously, your bum might thank you.

Night:

  • Warm water with a pinch of turmeric to settle things down.

  • Reflect on what came up today—physically and emotionally. Honor the intensity of the process and give your liver some love.

Next Day:

  • Time to ease back into solid foods. Light meals like kitchari or steamed veggies will help your system stabilize. And hydrate!

  • And importantly, let go for an emotional release. Let’s all the emotions flush out of you. May it be silent tears, or angry punching a pillow.

Important tip:

  • Keep hydrated (seriously, you’ll need it).

  • And remember to smile to your liver.

You've got this. Clean liver, clean slate.
